Barnes & Noble Teen Festival & the new MY BOYFRIEND MERLIN

It’s here! The Barnes & Noble TEEN BOOK Festival is this weekend!

I am super-thrilled to be taking part in the Friday kick-off. If you are in the area, come JOIN me at the B&N Rancho Cucamonga on Friday, June 10th at 7 PM. There will be trivia, games, book prizes, and more from B&N.

I’ll also be passing out swag and goodies. In costume! (Hint: Got butterbeer?!)

The festival continues on Saturday, June 11, and Sunday, June 12 with authors at different Barnes & Noble locations throughout the country! So even if you can’t make it here, get to your local store and check out who’s there!

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL

Recently I kicked off an update of MY BOYFRIEND MERLIN on Wattpad. I’ve been wanting to detail out the scenes in BOOK 1 for some time and I'm putting my first pass (unedited) on Wattpad. If you’re a member, you can comment and leave notes. (“Merlin! Whhhyyy?” is a good note.)  If you’re not, you can still read it for free!

Check it out. The first page is pasted below & completely REDONE! ALSO look for more announcements in the fall as I wrap up some new work!

XO,
Priya

THE WORLD CHANGES

I remember exactly what I was doing when I heard the news…
I’d always heard the phrase from older people. They remembered they’d just ordered a cup of coffee when JFK died. They remembered they’d been folding their leg warmers when the Challenger blew up on takeoff on national TV, or that it was a Tuesday when terrorists crashed a plane into the twin towers…
I’d heard about such life changing events, but like anyone, I didn’t really believe it would happen to me.
I was sitting in school when the story broke. A text message made my phone vibrate in my pocket. Making sure the teacher’s back was turned, I snuck out the phone.
RYAN, WE NEED TO TALK.

My name is actually Arriane Morganne Brittany DuLac which is why I went by Ryan instead. The phone blinked with a number I recognized, even though I’d deleted the name from my contact list. Matt. I felt his eyes boring into the back of my head. I slinked down in my chair.

Once Upon a Time, In a Kingdom Close to Home...

A writer wiled away her hours hunched over a keyboard with wild uncombed hair, somewhat smelly sweat pants, and endless pots of tea. Finally, one day, she hit the keys and wrote those epic words “The End.”

Yes, this is my update. Followed by a happy dance. It has been a long while and thanks to many unforeseen life events—both heartbreaking and happy—I find myself at the end of a very long and extremely dark tunnel. As I put the finished-book crown on my head, I want to say a big thank you for all those who kept me running along—with a lot of real and virtual handholding.

They say that art is born in fire. I have to agree, for I am feeling very charred. Plastic surgery anyone? (Just kidding). Nothing physically dire has happened to me since the last Merlin book. However, I am very glad to be writing this today. Because it means I’ve created something I am willing to hold up high.

Long story short...the “new” fairy tale I’ve been telling you all about is done. Currently I don’t have a schedule for publication but you can definitely expect to see it. And now, I think it’s time to work on something new…

Happy Holidays, dear readers. A pumpkin juice toast to you!

Happy New Year 2014 & Announcing Young Adultica!

Happy New Year 2014 & Announcing Young Adultica!

What's your resolution? Mine's to read more books (of course!) and lay off that holiday chocolate (not happening, alas). Still, a better way to ring in the new year is to talk about my favorite subject-- young adult books. Do you browse whatever bookstore that you happen to stumble upon? Do you find yourself going unerringly in said bookstore to the young adult section? Are you like me and sigh everytime you actually find the young adult section and it is HUGE? Oh, how I love the age of young adult book fever. But now that the fever's hit, which one to choose among this great wide selection? What's new? Who wins at Cover Love? That's when Young Adultica, the magazine, steps in...

In the words of Young Adultica:

"young adultica is a magazine all about young adult fiction--what we love, why you might love it, how we fell in love with it. browse it like a bookstore--get lost for hours, find something to mull over while you drink your coffee, find a spot to linger as long as you like."

 YA

So... a glossy magazine that talks YA? I'm in. Did you take a look at their homepage? Notice anything? Yup, you saw it. My Boyfriend Merlin is getting some cover love! Now what are you waiting for? Go on.. check out their debut Winter 2014 issue. Do you see how pretty it is? And to top it all... it's FREE!!

 Winter 2014

Talk to you soon about more books,
